Quick answers

  • Cost: from ₩1,300,000 (≈ $930) per tooth. Bone grafting and a sinus lift are charged separately if needed. Panoramic X-ray ₩100,000; CT ₩150,000 only if needed.

  • Implant systems: Osstem, Dentium and Straumann.
  • Trips to Seoul: most patients need two trips: one for surgery and one for the final crown, usually a few months apart.
  • Who places your implant: a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, from diagnosis to the final crown.
  • Location: central Seoul, about 5 minutes on foot from City Hall Station.

If you are missing a tooth, or have been told you need several implants, getting treatment in Seoul can make sense. The hard part is knowing how long you need to stay, how many times you need to come back, and what it will really cost. This page answers those questions for patients traveling from abroad or living in Korea.

At ARC Dental, implant placement is treated as surgery. Before anything is planned, we check the bone, the nerves and the sinus on X-ray, adding a CT scan when needed, then decide how many implants you actually need, where they should go, and in what order. We would rather place fewer implants in the right positions than more implants than you need.

01 · COST

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost in Seoul?

Dental implants at ARC Dental start from ₩1,300,000 (about $930) per tooth. We use Osstem, Dentium and Straumann implant systems. The final cost depends on your bone, the position of the tooth and whether extra procedures are needed. We give you a written, itemized estimate after your examination and before any treatment starts.

TreatmentEstimated cost
Dental implant, per toothFrom ₩1,300,000 (≈ $930)
Full-mouth / full-arch implantsQuoted after consultation, examination and CT
Treatment of a failed implantFrom ₩1,300,000 (≈ $930) per tooth
Bone grafting, sinus lift and other additional proceduresCharged separately, only if required
Panoramic X-ray (charged separately)₩100,000 (≈ $70)
CT scan, only if needed (charged separately)₩150,000 (≈ $110)

Prices are charged in Korean Won (KRW). US dollar amounts are approximate and for reference only. All prices are estimates. The final cost is confirmed after an in-person examination. International credit and debit cards are accepted, as well as cash in KRW or USD. Card payments are converted by your card issuer at the day’s exchange rate. Imaging is charged separately from treatment: a panoramic X-ray is ₩100,000 (≈ $70), and a CT scan (₩150,000, ≈ $110) is added only when more detail is needed. We tell you before any scan is taken.

Why prices vary: two patients missing the same tooth can need very different treatment. If the bone has shrunk after a long gap, or the upper back teeth sit close to the sinus, extra steps may be needed so the implant lasts. We explain each item and why it is needed before you decide.

02 · FULL-MOUTH IMPLANTS

Full-Mouth Dental Implants in Seoul: Why We Quote After a Consultation

If you are missing many teeth, or have been told that most of your teeth need to come out, you probably want one number: how much will full-mouth implants cost? The honest answer is that nobody can give you a reliable price before your mouth has been examined, and that is why we give the full-mouth implant price after a consultation.

Two patients who both "need full-mouth implants" can need completely different treatment. Before any price is meaningful, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon has to answer these questions:

  • Which teeth can still be saved? We check every tooth first. Keeping a healthy tooth is better, and less expensive, than replacing it.
  • How many teeth need to be removed? This depends on the roots, the gums and any infection, not on how the teeth look from the outside.
  • How many implants are actually needed? A full arch can often be restored with fewer implants than the number of missing teeth, by connecting them with an implant bridge.
  • Is there enough bone? The height and width of the jawbone, the distance to the nerve and the position of the sinus decide whether bone grafting or a sinus lift is needed.
  • How do your teeth bite together? Full-mouth treatment rebuilds your bite, so the jaw joint and the way your upper and lower teeth meet are planned at the same time.

How you get your full-mouth implant price

  1. Consultation before you travel. Message us on WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat or KakaoTalk with any X-rays, CT scans or photos you have. Dr. Jeon reviews them and gives you an approximate idea of the treatment and cost range, so you can plan your trip and budget.
  2. Examination and CT in Seoul. We check each tooth, the bone, the nerves, the sinus and your bite on X-ray and CT.
  3. Written, itemized quote. We explain exactly how many teeth will be removed, how many implants you need, whether grafting is needed, how many trips it will take and the final cost. Nothing starts until you agree.
Why there is no fixed full-mouth price: every mouth is different. We plan the number of implants your bone and bite actually need, explain why, and only then give you a price you can trust.

03 · CANDIDATES

Are You a Good Candidate for Dental Implants?

You may be a candidate for implants if any of these apply to you:

  • You have lost one or more teeth and want a fixed replacement, not a removable denture.
  • A tooth has been told it cannot be saved because of a deep fracture or infection.
  • Your bridge or denture is loose, painful or making it hard to eat.
  • An existing implant is loose, painful or surrounded by bone loss.

Implants are not right for everyone at every moment. Uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smoking, some bone medications and recent radiation to the jaw can affect healing. Please tell us about every medicine you take, and bring the names or a photo of the packaging. We also check whether a tooth can still be saved before recommending removal.

04 · TIMELINE

How Many Visits and How Long Do You Need to Stay in Seoul?

An implant needs time to bond with the bone before it can hold a crown. That healing time is why most international patients plan two trips.

What happensTypical time in Seoul
Trip 1Examination, CT scan, treatment plan, extraction if needed, implant placementAbout 3 to 7 days, including a check-up after surgery
HealingThe implant bonds with the bone. You go home during this time.Usually a few months. Upper teeth and grafted sites often take longer.
Trip 2Digital scan, crown fitting, bite adjustmentAbout 3 to 5 days

These are typical ranges, not a promise. Your exact schedule depends on your bone, whether grafting is needed and how the implant settles. If you send us a recent X-ray or CT before you travel, we can give you a more accurate plan in advance.

Planning tip: tell us your arrival and departure dates when you contact us. We will plan your surgery early in your stay so there is time for a check-up before you fly.

05 · PROCESS

The Dental Implant Process, Step by Step

  1. Send us your case before you travel. A photo, X-ray or CT and a short description of your problem on WhatsApp, LINE or email.
  2. Examination and X-ray. We start with a panoramic X-ray. If we need a closer look at bone height and width, the nerve or the sinus, we add a CT scan.
  3. Treatment plan and estimate. We explain how many implants you need, where, whether grafting is needed, the timeline and the cost.
  4. Implant surgery. Performed under local anesthesia. Teeth that cannot be saved are removed first if needed.
  5. Check-up before you leave. We review healing and give you written aftercare instructions in English.
  6. Healing at home. The implant bonds with the bone over the following months.
  7. Final crown. On your second trip, we scan, fit and adjust your crown so it bites correctly.

06 · TRAVEL

Can You Fly After Dental Implant Surgery?

Many patients fly home a few days after implant surgery without problems. What matters is that the first stage of healing is checked before you leave. In general:

  • Plan surgery early in your trip, not the day before your flight.
  • Some swelling and discomfort for a few days is normal. We prescribe what you need.
  • If you had a sinus lift, avoid blowing your nose hard. We will tell you how long to wait before flying.
  • Keep your aftercare sheet and medication list with you in your hand luggage.

Your surgeon will confirm whether it is safe for you to fly based on how your surgery went.

07 · AFTERCARE

Aftercare Once You Are Home

You will leave with written aftercare instructions in English. On request, we also email an English treatment certificate and itemized receipt for your travel insurance claim, within 7 business days. If you have questions while you are healing, message us on WhatsApp or LINE and include a photo if possible.

Your treatment records, including X-rays, can be shared with your dentist at home if you need local follow-up.

08 · WHY AN ORAL SURGEON

Why See an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for Implants?

Implant placement is surgery inside the jawbone, close to nerves and the sinus. An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is trained specifically in this area, including bone grafting and complex cases where the bone has been lost.

At ARC Dental, Dr. Jaeho Jeon, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and adjunct professor at Seoul National University Dental Hospital, examines you, plans your implants and performs the surgery himself. The same doctor follows your case through to the final crown.

09 · FAQ

Dental Implants in Seoul: Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a dental implant cost in Korea?

At ARC Dental in Seoul, dental implants start from ₩1,300,000 (about $930) per tooth, using Osstem, Dentium or Straumann implant systems. Bone grafting, a sinus lift or other additional procedures are charged separately only if required. Imaging is charged separately: a panoramic X-ray is ₩100,000 (about $70), and a CT scan (₩150,000, about $110) is added only if needed. The final cost is confirmed after your examination, and we give you an itemized estimate before treatment.

How much do full-mouth dental implants cost in Korea?

At ARC Dental, the price of full-mouth implants is given after a consultation, because the number of teeth to remove, the number of implants and the need for bone grafting are different for every patient. Send us any X-rays, CT scans or photos before you travel and we will give you an approximate idea of the treatment and cost. The exact, itemized quote is given after your examination and CT in Seoul, before any treatment begins.

Which implant brands do you use?

We use Osstem, Dentium and Straumann implant systems. The system is chosen for your case after the examination and CT scan.

Can I get a dental implant in one trip to Seoul?

Usually not. The implant needs a few months to bond with the bone before the final crown is attached, so most international patients make two trips. Your first trip is for diagnosis and surgery, and your second trip is for the crown.

How long do I need to stay in Seoul for implant surgery?

For the surgery trip, plan for about 3 to 7 days so there is time for an examination, surgery and a check-up before you fly. The crown trip usually takes about 3 to 5 days.

Is the consultation in English?

Yes. Consultations are in English, supported by real-time translation when needed, so that you understand every part of your treatment plan.

Does implant surgery hurt?

The surgery is done under local anesthesia, so you should feel pressure but not sharp pain. Some swelling and soreness for a few days afterward is common, and we prescribe medication to keep you comfortable.

Can you fix an implant that was placed somewhere else?

Yes. We treat loose, painful or failing implants, including cases with bone loss around the implant. We first find out why the implant is failing, then decide whether it can be kept or needs to be replaced.

Can I use my travel insurance?

Coverage depends on your insurer. On request, we email an English treatment certificate and itemized receipt as a PDF within 7 business days of your visit, which you can submit with your claim.
