When you are in pain or do not speak Korean, a phone call is not always easy. Send us a message through the app you already use, ideally with a photo of the tooth, and we will reply as soon as possible.

A tooth breaks on a hard snack. A crown comes off at dinner. You fall and hit your mouth. Or a toothache that started on the plane is now keeping you awake. When this happens in a foreign city, the hardest part is knowing where to go and who will understand you.

ARC Dental is led by a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, the specialty that treats injuries to the teeth, mouth and jaw. We see international patients with urgent problems, explain what is happening in English, and focus first on stopping the pain and protecting the tooth. Then we plan what can be finished before you fly.

01 · EMERGENCIES

Dental Emergencies We Treat

  • Chipped, cracked or broken tooth
  • Knocked-out or loosened tooth after a fall or accident
  • Cuts to the lip, cheek, tongue or gums
  • Jaw injury, or pain when opening or closing the mouth
  • Lost crown or filling
  • Severe toothache, or swelling of the face or gums
  • Pain or swelling around a wisdom tooth

Injuries to the mouth and jaw are a core part of oral and maxillofacial surgery, so you are seen by a specialist rather than referred elsewhere.

02 · FIRST AID

What to Do Right Now: Dental First Aid

SituationWhat to do until you see us
Knocked-out toothPick it up by the crown, not the root. If dirty, rinse briefly without scrubbing. Keep it in milk or in your mouth next to the cheek, or gently put it back in the socket. Come in as soon as possible. Time matters most.
Broken toothKeep any broken pieces. Rinse with water. Avoid chewing on that side and avoid very hot or cold food.
Cut in the mouthPress clean gauze or cloth on the area for 10–15 minutes. A cold compress outside the face can reduce swelling.
Lost crownKeep the crown in a clean container and bring it with you. Do not glue it back with household glue.
Toothache or swellingRinse with lukewarm water and use a cold compress outside the face. Do not put painkillers directly on the gum. Swelling that spreads, fever or trouble swallowing needs urgent care.

This is general guidance only and does not replace an examination. Do not take medication you have not used before without advice from a doctor or pharmacist.
